Washington: US President Donald Trump has appointed Stephen Miller as the new White House Chief of Staff. Miller will replace Susie Wiles, with the change taking effect on November 9, 2026.
Trump announced the decision through a post on his Truth Social account. Miller is currently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff and is one of Trump’s closest advisers.
Susie Wiles will move to Trump’s political team. Trump also thanked her for her work as White House Chief of Staff.
Change Comes After Republican Election Losses
The decision comes after the Republican Party suffered losses in the midterm elections. Several former Trump supporters had called for changes in the White House team and asked Wiles to step down.
Former Trump adviser Steve Bannon also said that Wiles should leave her position after the party’s poor election results.
