Rajkot, Gujarat: In recognition of his exceptional contribution towards the welfare and empowerment of persons with disabilities, social worker Dr. Latesh Parmar has been conferred with the prestigious Guardian Angel Award 2026. The award was presented during the 6th Guardian Angel Award Ceremony organized by Vishelvin Foundation, Ahmedabad, at Sayaji Hotel in Rajkot. Dr. Parmar, a resident of Samli Village in Godhra Taluka of Panchmahal District, Gujarat, was honoured in the Social Worker Category for his dedicated efforts in promoting inclusion, accessibility, and equal opportunities for persons with disabilities. The Guardian Angel Awards are presented annually to individuals who have made significant contributions to improving the lives of differently-abled persons. This year, a total of 89 individuals from various districts of Gujarat were recognised for their remarkable work in the disability sector. The award ceremony was attended by several distinguished dignitaries. Shri Brijesh Kumar Jha (IPS), Police Commissioner of Rajkot City, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Shri Tushar Sumera (IAS), Municipal Commissioner of Rajkot Municipal Corporation, attended as the Guest of Honour. Among other notable attendees were Captain Ashwin Solanki, Chief Nautical Officer of Gujarat Maritime Board, and Dr. Milankumar Pandit, District Social Security Officer, Rajkot, who appreciated the efforts of social workers and organisations working towards disability empowerment and social inclusion. The event was organised under the leadership of Mrs. Poonam G. Kaushik, Managing Trustee of Vishelvin Foundation, along with Mr. Gaurav Kaushik and the foundation’s dedicated team. The ceremony aimed to acknowledge individuals who have played a meaningful role in creating a more inclusive and accessible society. Speaking on the occasion, organisers highlighted the importance of recognising grassroots social workers who continue to make a positive impact in the lives of vulnerable communities. Dr. Latesh Parmar’s recognition reflects his years of commitment towards supporting persons with disabilities and advocating for their rights, dignity, and equal participation in society. His work continues to inspire communities across Gujarat and serves as an example of how dedicated social service can bring meaningful change. The honour further reinforces the growing importance of disability welfare initiatives in India and the need for continued efforts towards building an inclusive society where every individual is given equal opportunities to thrive.
