Ahmedabad, Gujarat: In a world where creative careers are often seen as risky and uncertain, Rajan Chauhan has chosen to trust his passion over fear. Hailing from the small city of Junagadh in Gujarat, Rajan’s story is not one of overnight success but of patience, sacrifice, and relentless determination.
Today, at just 24 years of age, he is the Founder of Mukt World LLP, a creative media company built on the dream of creating meaningful stories through cinema and visual storytelling.
Born into a middle-class family with no connection to the film industry or business, Rajan’s ambitions were unlike anything his family had experienced before. His father runs a modest barber shop in Junagadh, while his mother dedicated herself to supporting the family. Despite limited financial resources, both parents stood firmly behind their son’s dream of becoming a filmmaker.
Determined to turn his passion into a profession, Rajan pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Film & Television Production, specializing in Film Direction, from Parul University, Vadodara, graduating in 2023.
The journey, however, was anything but easy.
To finance his education, Rajan relied on an education loan from the Central Bank of India. Even then, meeting everyday expenses remained a challenge. His mother made one of the biggest sacrifices any parent can make by selling her gold jewellery so that his education could continue uninterrupted. His father worked tirelessly, saving from his daily earnings and borrowing money whenever required to ensure that financial difficulties would not force his son to abandon his dreams.
Those sacrifices became Rajan’s greatest motivation.
While studying, Rajan immersed himself in every opportunity that came his way. He learned from experienced professionals, participated in workshops, worked on student productions, and actively attended film-related events.
His exposure expanded further through participation in prestigious film festivals, including IFFI Goa, Lift-Off Global Network’s First-Time Filmmaker Sessions, Kautik International Film Festival (KIFF), Vadodara Film & Design Festival (VFDF), and the Cinevesture International Film Festival in Chandigarh.
These experiences shaped not only his technical skills but also his understanding of cinema as a powerful medium for storytelling.
Over the years, Rajan worked on short films, documentaries, advertisements, music videos, and several independent creative projects. During his early career, he gained valuable industry exposure through internships on a music video featuring Kinjal Dave and an advertisement starring Malhar Thakar. He also appeared as a junior artist in the Gujarati feature film Goldhana, featuring Yash Soni and Janki Bodiwala.
Among his creative works, the documentary Garba: The Light of Womb and several student films helped refine his filmmaking approach. His independent short film Paraane later achieved an important milestone after receiving an Official Selection at Lift-Off Global Network’s First-Time Filmmaker Sessions, a UK-based international platform that recognises emerging filmmakers. For Rajan, the selection was not merely an achievement—it was a reminder that perseverance eventually finds its audience.
Life after graduation brought new responsibilities rather than immediate success.
With an education loan to repay and growing financial responsibilities at home, Rajan entered the professional world while continuing to pursue his long-term dream of filmmaking. He accepted different assignments across multiple cities, balancing work with his creative ambitions.
His journey eventually took him across more than 12 States and Union Territories of India. Whether through jobs, freelance assignments, networking events, production work, or industry meetings, Rajan constantly searched for opportunities to learn and grow. He reached out to filmmakers, production houses, and creative professionals through emails, phone calls, social media, and personal interactions whenever possible.
Like many first-generation filmmakers, rejection became a familiar part of his journey. Without influential contacts or an established industry network, many doors remained closed.
But giving up was never an option.
Instead, Rajan chose to build his own.
In November 2025, at the age of just 23, he founded Mukt World LLP in Ahmedabad with the vision of creating a professional creative media company that could offer branding, digital media, content creation, media production, and visual storytelling services while steadily working towards producing original films, documentaries, advertisements, and OTT content.
Today, Mukt World LLP continues to expand across multiple creative domains while serving businesses and brands through innovative media solutions. At the same time, Rajan remains committed to his larger dream of creating impactful cinema that resonates with audiences.
One of the defining moments in this entrepreneurial journey came when Mukt World LLP secured its first international commercial client through Nigel Hazell, Founder of Cyclic Digital. The project marked the company’s first overseas collaboration and demonstrated that a creative venture started in Gujarat could successfully work beyond national boundaries.
Despite financial hardships, education loans, countless rejections, and the uncertainty that often accompanies creative careers, Rajan has continued moving forward with resilience and purpose.
For him, success has never been measured only by awards, recognition, or business growth. It lies in honouring the sacrifices made by his parents, building meaningful opportunities through Mukt World LLP, and telling stories that leave a lasting impact.
His journey stands as a reminder that where you begin does not define where you can reach. With persistence, continuous learning, and the courage to believe in one’s vision, even a young dreamer from a small town can build something that inspires others to dream a little bigger.
