Sultanpur: A proud moment for the Rebello family and the city of Sultanpur as Aarvik Rebello and Aayansh Rebello, students of Stella Maris Convent School, Sultanpur, along with their mother Dr. Kiran Rebello, participated in the Guinness World Records™ “Largest Reading and Listening Competition” record attempt.
The competition was organised by Ebek Language Laboratories Pvt. Ltd. across India and Sri Lanka, bringing together participants with the aim of promoting reading and listening habits among children and families.
Following their participation in the record attempt, Aarvik, Aayansh and Dr. Kiran were presented with official attempt certificates and medals, marking their participation in the event and making the occasion a memorable one for the family.
The event holds special significance for Dr. Kiran Rebello, who has been encouraging her children to develop interests beyond academics and digital screens. She regularly motivates Aarvik and Aayansh to read books and participate in activities such as painting, sports and other creative pursuits.
In an age when smartphones and digital entertainment have become an integral part of children’s lives, Dr. Kiran believes that reading, sports, art and creative activities remain important for a child’s overall development. She encourages her children to explore, learn and develop confidence through different experiences.
“This is a very proud and joyful moment for our family. I want my children to explore the world beyond smartphones and remain connected with books, art, sports and knowledge. With the right guidance and encouragement, children can achieve meaningful things at a young age,” Dr. Kiran Rebello said.
The participation of Aarvik and Aayansh at a young age has also provided them with an opportunity to experience an event involving participants from different parts of India and Sri Lanka. For the family, the experience is another step towards encouraging the children to develop a lasting interest in reading and learning.
The occasion has also brought a sense of pride to Stella Maris Convent School and the Sultanpur community. The involvement of children from the city in an international-level record attempt highlights the importance of providing young students with opportunities to participate in activities beyond the classroom.
The family hopes that the experience will encourage Aarvik and Aayansh to continue reading, learning and taking part in creative and sporting activities. Dr. Kiran believes that children should be given the freedom and encouragement to discover their interests and develop their abilities from an early age.
The Rebello family’s participation in the record attempt, along with the official attempt certificates and medals presented to them, has made the occasion a memorable one for the family and a proud moment for Sultanpur.
