As India continues to face challenges in maternal and child healthcare, a new health-tech startup, Yashoma, has entered the space with a mission to make trusted, doctor-led guidance more accessible for parents during pregnancy and the early years of a child’s life.
Founded by entrepreneur Prashant Raghav, former Founder and CEO of InLighnX Global, and medically guided by senior pediatrician Dr. Sandip Gupta, Yashoma aims to bridge the information and support gap many Indian families experience between hospital visits.
Why Yashoma Was Founded
For many first-time parents, pregnancy and early childhood bring countless questions. While information is readily available online, much of it is inconsistent, unverified, or difficult to trust. At the same time, many regions across India continue to face limited access to pediatric specialists and maternal healthcare professionals.
Recognising this challenge, Yashoma is building a platform that combines clinical expertise with technology to help parents make informed decisions during the most important stages of a child’s development.
Speaking about the vision behind the company, Prashant Raghav, Co-Founder and CEO of Yashoma, said:
“Becoming a parent comes with a thousand questions, and very few reliable places to find the answers. With Yashoma, our goal is to ensure that no parent has to raise a child without expert guidance when they need it most.”
What the Platform Will Offer
Yashoma is being developed as a comprehensive support ecosystem for parents rather than just another healthcare application.
The platform is expected to provide:
- Doctor-led guidance during pregnancy
- Child growth and developmental milestone tracking
- Evidence-based parenting education
- Expert-backed maternal and pediatric healthcare resources
- Digital tools that support families from pregnancy through the first six years of a child’s life
Medical leadership for the platform is being provided by Dr. Sandip Gupta, who brings more than 12 years of pediatric clinical experience.
According to Dr. Gupta:
“Many parents experience unnecessary anxiety simply because they cannot access reliable medical advice at the right time. Yashoma is designed to make trusted, doctor-backed guidance available beyond hospital walls.”
Focus on Accessible Healthcare Across India
One of Yashoma’s long-term goals is to improve access to maternal and pediatric healthcare beyond metropolitan cities. The startup plans to serve families living in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, where specialised healthcare services may not always be easily available.
The company is currently in the product development stage, with its mobile application expected to launch in the coming months.
Addressing a Growing Healthcare Need
India has witnessed rapid digital adoption in healthcare, yet many parents still struggle to find trustworthy, evidence-based guidance during pregnancy and early childhood. By bringing together experienced medical professionals and technology, Yashoma hopes to reduce confusion and provide parents with dependable support throughout their parenting journey.
As digital health solutions continue to evolve, initiatives like Yashoma reflect a growing focus on preventive care, early childhood development, and informed parenting—areas that play a significant role in improving long-term health outcomes for children across the country.
