Born in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, and later making Palanpur, Gujarat, his karmabhoomi, Rajendra Dhariwal has spent decades combining entrepreneurship with social responsibility.
His journey reflects resilience, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to serving society, earning him recognition through several national and international honours, including the United States Global Merit Award and the Bharat Gaurav Samman Award.
A Foundation Built on Values and Service
Rajendra Dhariwal credits his dedication to public service to the values inherited from his family.
His grandfather, the late Shri Moolchand Dhariwal, served as the Kamdar of the historic Sinali Jagir and was known for placing the welfare of villagers above all else. His parents, Late Shri Chandan Mal Dhariwal and Smt. Pushp Kanwar, lived lives rooted in kindness, humility, and compassion. Although they passed away decades ago, their teachings continue to guide his personal and professional life.
These early influences shaped a lifelong belief that true success lies in helping others.
Education That Inspired Leadership
Rajendra Dhariwal completed his higher secondary education at Umeed Higher Secondary School, Jodhpur, before earning a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Shri Onkar Mal Somani College of Commerce (Jodhpur University).
He further strengthened his academic foundation by completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Export Marketing Management and PGDCSA, graduating with strong academic performance.
During his student years, he actively participated in competitions and became associated with the National Service Scheme (NSS), where he received several awards and certificates for his contribution to community service.
From Business to Social Responsibility
After completing his education, Rajendra Dhariwal joined his family’s textile printing business. While learning the intricacies of business and developing professional relationships, his passion increasingly shifted toward humanitarian work.
His early social initiatives included serving leprosy patients in Jodhpur through Bharatiya Yuva Sangathan, where he regularly visited leprosy rehabilitation centres and distributed essential supplies.
He also joined the Hindustani Andolan, working alongside national coordinator Shri Madhu Mehta in campaigns promoting equal civil rights and civic awareness. His contribution was acknowledged during a public programme held in Valsad, Gujarat.
Serving Society Through Community Organisations
Over the years, Rajendra Dhariwal has served in leadership positions across several social organisations.
As Joint Director (Administration) of the Giants Group of Jodhpur, he helped organise free health camps benefiting local communities.
As a Director of the Rotaract Club of Suncity, he supported eye-care awareness programmes and vision-related healthcare initiatives.
These roles strengthened his belief that sustainable social development begins with active community participation.
A New Beginning in Palanpur
Life presented unexpected challenges when business circumstances forced Rajendra Dhariwal to relocate to Karnataka before eventually starting over in Palanpur, Gujarat.
During this difficult phase, his wife Vini Dhariwal (Vinita Dhariwal) became his strongest source of support, encouraging him to rebuild from scratch despite significant hardships.
Together, they transformed adversity into opportunity.
With the encouragement and trust of the people of Palanpur, Rajendra Dhariwal rebuilt both his professional career and his social service initiatives, expanding his impact across Banaskantha district.
Working for Public Welfare in Gujarat
As General Secretary of Banaskantha Vikas Manch, Rajendra Dhariwal worked closely with local authorities to address civic concerns and resolve issues affecting residents.
He also advocated for the welfare of street vendors by helping present their concerns before government officials, contributing to practical solutions for their livelihood challenges.
Within the Jain Social Group, Palanpur, he served as Chairman of the Health Committee, organising successful blood donation camps and healthcare initiatives.
As President of the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Smarak Samiti, he led restoration efforts at the memorial site, including infrastructure improvements, lighting installation, and restoration of Netaji’s statue in historically accurate colours.
Standing with People During the COVID-19 Pandemic
Perhaps one of the most significant chapters of Rajendra Dhariwal’s service came during the COVID-19 pandemic.
While many communities struggled with uncertainty, he distributed food and snacks to children living in underprivileged settlements.
More significantly, he voluntarily helped prepare and process health insurance documentation for 116 individuals affected during the pandemic. Working without personal gain, he coordinated paperwork with insurance companies and helped ensure that eligible claim amounts reached beneficiaries.
His efforts provided financial relief to families during one of the most difficult periods in recent history.
