Teacher Mr. Gaurav Pathak, currently serving at the prestigious Shri Nehru Smarak Bhagwandas Inter College, Mendu, in Hathras district of Uttar Pradesh, has emerged as an inspiring example of education, social service, and innovation. Embodying all the qualities of an ideal teacher, he continues to work tirelessly for the overall development of students.
A resident of Saraswatan locality in Mendu town and the son of Late Shri Satya Prakash Pathak Guruji, Gaurav Pathak has dedicated his life to serving poor, needy, and underprivileged students. According to Gaurav Pathak, the inspiration for social service came from his father. He believes that true service requires compassion more than resources. Considering “knowledge sharing” as the greatest form of charity, he has focused most of his efforts in the field of education. He strongly believes that helping people in education, healthcare, and employment is his highest duty.
His contribution in the field of employment guidance has been remarkable. More than 450 of his students are currently serving in various government departments across different positions.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, he organized 108 vaccination camps and played an important role in helping nearly 21,000 people receive vaccines. He also arranged free online medical consultations, treatment support, and oxygen cylinders through a panel of doctors. For the last ten years, he has been providing free transportation facilities to board examination students, benefiting more than 1,500 students.
Through Abhyas Foundation, he initiated free online coaching for IIT, NEET, and other competitive examinations. Distributing books, stationery, and uniforms to needy students, running tree plantation drives for environmental conservation, and establishing the “Helpdesk Satya Chetna” to reduce students’ stress are among his major initiatives. For the past seven years, this helpdesk has been helping board examination students overcome mental stress, fear of exams, and lack of confidence. Through regular guidance, counseling sessions, and motivational support for students and parents, the initiative has made a significant impact, for which he was honored with the “Visionary Award.”
Gaurav Pathak’s contribution to road safety awareness is also highly commendable. Serving as a Master Trainer in the Secondary Education Department, he established the “Road Safety Force” and conducted helmet distribution campaigns to spread awareness about traffic rules. Students and citizens were encouraged to take road safety pledges, while signature campaigns were organized in schools and public places to promote safe transportation practices.
In the field of sports, he has also played a vital role in bringing recognition to the district. For the last five years, he has been serving as a team manager and coach in state-level secondary weightlifting and cricket competitions. Under his guidance, several students have won medals and achieved remarkable success for the district. Through sports, he also teaches students discipline, confidence, and team spirit.
From organizing blood donation camps to personally donating blood 50 times, Gaurav Pathak continues to actively contribute to every sphere of social service. Recently, he was honored with the Dr. Ambedkar Adarsh Samman for the “Vidyalaya Aapke Dwar” campaign.
