Dehradun, August 11, 2026: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday met Dr. Harendra Singh Chaudhary, an international ultra runner, sports coach, mentor and sports administrator, and appreciated his efforts towards encouraging young people to take up sports.
During the meeting, Dr. Chaudhary presented his book Sapno Se Shikhar Tak: Anushasan, Sangharsh Aur Safalta Ki Kahani to the Chief Minister. The book, which was launched earlier, reflects on the role of discipline, struggle, perseverance and mental strength in an athlete’s journey.
Dr. Chaudhary explained that the purpose of the book is not simply to share a sporting journey, but to motivate young athletes to believe in their potential and continue working towards their goals despite challenges. He said he wants both boys and girls to see sports as an opportunity to build a future while contributing to the country’s achievements.
A major part of the discussion was also centred around Khel Ki Pathshala, Dr. Chaudhary’s initiative aimed at providing young sportspersons with training, guidance and motivation. He briefed the Chief Minister about the initiative and its work towards helping emerging players develop their abilities.
Dr. Chaudhary said that his long-term vision is connected with the 2036 Olympics, with an emphasis on preparing young athletes from an early stage. He believes that proper guidance, discipline and consistent training can help create a stronger sporting culture and give talented youngsters a better pathway towards competitive sports.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami appreciated the initiative and the work being done for young sportspersons. According to Dr. Chaudhary, the Chief Minister expressed his support for Khel Ki Pathshala and said that wherever his support is required, he would stand with the initiative, while encouraging the team to work towards preparing athletes for the 2036 Olympics.
The meeting also comes at a time when Dr. Chaudhary is expected to take on a possible new responsibility in the sports sector. While no official details have been disclosed so far, the matter is being kept confidential.
For Dr. Chaudhary, the interaction with the Chief Minister represents another step in his effort to promote sports among young people and build a culture where talent is supported with discipline, training and the right guidance.
Through Sapno Se Shikhar Tak and Khel Ki Pathshala, his stated objective remains to encourage the next generation to pursue their sporting dreams and aspire to represent India on major national and international platforms.
