Born on 23 July 1960 in Vadodara, Gujarat, Harish Shah developed a deep connection with Gujarati literature from an early age under the influence of his family. While pursuing technical education in Production Engineering from The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, he continued nurturing his passion for poetry and literature.
Professionally, he established himself in the engineering and automobile sector, serving in senior leadership positions and contributing innovative technical ideas, including multiple patents. Despite achieving success in the corporate world, literature remained the defining purpose of his life.
After his retirement, Harish Shah penned his professional autobiography in English, titled Absorb Apply Allocate, with the aim of sharing his industrial knowledge, leadership experience, and professional insights with the next generation.
The book has been widely appreciated across industrial and professional circles for its practical approach to career development, lifelong learning, and leadership, reflecting yet another dimension of his commitment to contributing to society beyond the field of literature.
Over the years, Harish Shah has authored 14 books, along with a special publication dedicated to writers whose works had never been published before.

Under Harish Shah’s leadership, it has organised more than 50 literary and cultural programmes within a short span, including Kavi Sammelans, Mushairas, literary festivals, seminars, educational lectures, poetry gatherings, women-centric literary events, youth programmes, and cultural discussions. Harish Shah’s literary journey has also been marked by two World Record recognitions. In 2024, he was recognised by World Records India for publishing the maximum number of books in multiple languages by an author in a single day, with eight books released simultaneously.
In 2025, Jayantormi Sahitya Seva Trust, under his leadership, earned another World Record for organising the highest number of public literary programmes, honours, and awards dedicated to Gujarati literature within a short period, reflecting the Trust’s outstanding contribution to promoting Gujarati language and culture.
