New Delhi: The US elections in 2024 will be closely watched. According to the most recent AtlasIntel poll, former President Donald Trump is leading the predictions ahead of the November 5 voting, particularly in all seven swing states.
The poll indicates that 49% of the participants would support Donald Trump in the next presidential election, with the Republicans leading Democrat Kamala Harris by 1.8%.
Nearly 2,500 US likely voters, mostly women, participated in the survey, which was conducted over the first two days of November.
Swing states, the battleground states that are crucial in determining the outcome of the US presidential election, are the focus of attention as the 2024 presidential election approaches its closing days.
Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin are all swing states where the Republican nominee is expected to win, according to another poll of these states.
Trump leads Harris by his largest margin in Arizona, 51.9% to 45.1%.
In Nevada, 51.4% of voters selected Trump and 45.9% selected Harris when asked who they would vote for in the next presidential election.
In North Carolina, Harris receives 46.8% of the vote, while Trump leads by 50.4%.
Red States, Blue States, and Swing States are the three categories of states that influence presidential elections in the United States. Blue States have been dominated by Democrats since 1992, while Red States have been continuously won by Republicans since 1980. Election results in these states are typically regarded as predictable.
Republicans and Democrats frequently fight each other in swing states, with the winners winning by narrow margins. For example, Joe Biden won Arizona by a mere 10,000 votes in the 2020 presidential election.
According to a Reuters/Ipsos poll released last week on October 29, Kamala Harris is one percentage point ahead of Donald Trump, 44% to 43%.
Interestingly, since she entered the race in July, Harris has led Trump in every Reuters/Ipsos poll of registered voters; however, since late September, her lead has gradually decreased.
