UDHAMPUR: The Udhampur Police have quickly solved a murder case within 24 hours of the crime happening. The victim, Mohd Yaqoob, son of Sain Ali from Mourd, Thatta, was found dead in bushes near the National Highway in the Moud area. This area falls under the Udhampur Police Station’s jurisdiction.
The police registered a case with FIR number 498/2024 under Section 103 BNS at the Udhampur Police Station and started their investigation. By carefully examining evidence and analyzing technical data, the police made quick progress in the case.

Inspector Raghuvir Singh, the SHO of Udhampur, led the police team that tracked down the suspect. During questioning, the suspect, Abdul Ghani, son of Hussain Ali from Mourd Bali, Udhampur, admitted to committing the murder. He confessed that he killed Mohd Yaqoob due to a money-related dispute. The police arrested him immediately and also seized important evidence, including the weapon used in the crime, which was a wooden club. The investigation is still ongoing.
