In a major success for security forces, top Hizb Commander Farooq Nali was killed along with four other terrorists in Kulgam district, South Kashmir, on Thursday.
A senior police officer reported that Farooq Nali was a highly wanted militant and one of the longest-surviving militants in the Valley. He was killed during a gunfight with police and security forces.
Farooq Nali had been involved in numerous terror activities, including attacks on both civilians and security personnel, the officer said.
His death marks a significant achievement for the police and security forces.
During the operation, five militants were killed, and two army soldiers were injured.
