Srinagar Police have recovered 290 bottles of Codeine Phosphate during a search in the Panthachowk area. The search was conducted based on reliable information at the home of Irfan Ahmad Ganie, who lives in Athawajan.
The operation was carried out with the presence of the Tehsildar Panthachowk, a government officer, to ensure everything was done properly. This important find shows the police’s ongoing efforts to fight drug trafficking in the area.
After the recovery, police registered a case under FIR No. 05/2025, following the rules of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Investigations are still ongoing to find out where the drugs came from and how they were being distributed.
