The police in Srinagar have arrested two people for selling drugs and have taken away drugs and cash from them. The arrests happened at a checkpoint in Dalgate.
The police caught the two suspects: Aquib Ahmad Sofi, who lives in Buchwara Dalgate, and Ashiq Hussain Dar, also known as Ashiq Kala, who lives in Dubji Bund Maisuma, Srinagar. When the police searched them, they found a large amount of drugs and ₹5,000 in cash.
After the arrests, the police registered a case under the law against drug offenses at the Ram Munshi Bagh Police Station, and they are now investigating the matter. Both suspects are in police custody.
The police are asking the public to report any drug dealing or other crimes they see. People can contact the nearest police station or call 112 to report anything suspicious. The police promise to take strong action against criminals.
