Sopore, 20 Dec: The District Drug Disposal Committee, led by SSP Sopore Smt. Divya D-IPS, along with SDPO Sopore Shri Sarfaraz Bashir-JKPS and DySP DAR Sopore, carried out the destruction of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances valued at over Rs. 1 crore, following an order from the Hon’ble Special Court (NDPS) Baramulla.
The drugs were seized in 21 different NDPS cases across various police stations in the Sopore district. The incineration took place at an approved site in Lassipora, Pulwama. During the process, 123.728 kg of poppy straw/powder, 2,811 bottles of codeine phosphate, and 28316 capsules of spasmoproxyvon were destroyed, adhering to all legal requirements set forth by the 2022 Rules and in accordance with the directions from the Hon’ble Special Court (NDPS) Baramulla.
