Security forces on Wednesday found a large stash of weapons and ammunition in a forest area called Anganpathri, located in the Uri Sector of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. This operation was carried out by the Jammu and Kashmir Police in collaboration with the Indian Army.
The weapons were hidden inside a hollow pine tree and wrapped in a blanket to avoid being found. The recovered items include three AK-47 rifles, eleven AK magazines, 292 rounds of AK ammunition, one Under Barrel Grenade Launcher (UBGL), nine UBGL grenades, and several hand grenades.
Following this discovery, a case has been registered under FIR No. 07/2025 at the Boniyar Police Station in Baramulla. Investigations are ongoing to find out where the weapons came from and who was involved in hiding them.
This operation highlights the efforts of security forces to fight against militancy and keep the area safe. More information will be shared as the investigation continues.
