Shopian, South Kashmir – security forces on Tuesday found an IED in the village of Kashwa Chitragam in the Shopian district of south Kashmir.
A law enforcement official said the bomb, known as an improvised explosive device (IED), was hidden inside a pressure cooker and weighed about 6 to 7 kilograms. The authorities quickly sent a bomb disposal unit (BDS) to the area to safely deactivate the device.
The bomb disposal team successfully neutralized the IED, preventing a potentially dangerous situation for the local community. Officials have not shared details about who may have placed the bomb or where it came from.
