The Chief Engineer of KPDCL has announced that there will be scheduled power outages to allow for important maintenance and upgrades in several areas. These outages are necessary to improve the power supply for everyone.
On February 9, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, power will be cut off to several receiving stations, including KP Bagh, Jawahar Nagar, Batmaloo, Exhibition, Rajbagh, Narkara, and Gangbugh. This will also affect nearby areas like Budshah Flats and Hari Singh High Street. The outages are needed to install new 33 KV line materials on 13-metre poles outside the GIS Grid Tengpora.
Additionally, the power supply to the Silk Factory Receiving Station and nearby areas, including Allochibagh, Solina, Rambagh, Old Barzalla, and LD Hospital (which will be supplied from Rajbagh), will also be interrupted during the same time.
There will be more outages on February 11, 15, 19, and 22, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, as part of the upgrade of the 33 KV Wanpoh SICOP Line. This upgrade will improve the power supply and will affect stations like Shamsipora, SICOP, Zirpara, Veeri, Cheniwader, and Shuhul Flour Mill, along with their surrounding areas.
On February 11, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, power will also be cut from the 33 KV Amargarh Watrigam line to stations including Watrigam, Hachipora, and Hadipora, affecting their nearby areas as part of stabilization work.
Furthermore, on February 10, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, the power supply from the 33 KV Lisser Hiller Line will be affected due to the charging of the upgraded line, which was completed under the PMDP-R scheme. This will impact stations like Hiller, Shankerpora, and Aarkashpora, along with their nearby areas.
KPDCL advises residents in these areas to prepare for the outages and plan accordingly. These maintenance and upgrade works are important for improving the power infrastructure and ensuring a more reliable supply in the future.
