Udhampur, November 11: In an effort to improve discipline and the academic environment, the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Ramnagar, Rajinder Singh Rana, has issued a consice circular banning the use of mobile phones within school premises across Sub Division Ramnagar. Students Behavior has to be regulated through such decisions. Students mental health is also the main concern for the decision.
The SDM’s circular was prompted after an unannounced inspection of schools, students were caught using their mobile phones. This incident underscored complaints made by local residents, who had expressed concerns that both students and teachers were using mobile devices during school hours. This practice, they argued, was causing distractions, fostering indiscipline, and negatively affecting students’ academic focus.
To address these issues, the SDM’s circular specifies a complete ban on mobile phone usage within the premises of all educational institutions in the area, both private and government. The only exception, according to the circular, is in cases of emergency, where the mobile phone of the school’s head can be utilized if needed.
