Rajouri, 22 January – The district administration in Rajouri has declared the Badhal area a containment zone due to a recent health crisis that has led to the deaths of 17 people from three families. This decision aims to prevent the further spread of infection.
According to an order from the District Magistrate, families affected by the deaths will be placed in Containment Zone 1. Their homes will be sealed, and no one, including family members, will be allowed to enter without permission from officials.
Families who were in close contact with the deceased will be moved to Containment Zone 2. Members of these families must go to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri for health monitoring to ensure they are not infected.
All households in Badhal Village have been classified as Containment Zone 3. Officials will be present to monitor food distribution and ensure that residents receive meals while following health guidelines.
To enforce these rules, police will be stationed in the area to oversee food consumption. Designated officers will keep a logbook to record every instance of food distribution and consumption, with entries made three times a day.
Additionally, all public and private gatherings in these containment zones are banned to help stop the spread of the infection.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) is looking into the situation to find out what caused the outbreak and how to address it.
Local authorities are urging residents to follow the guidelines to protect themselves and their community during this difficult time. Cooperation from everyone is crucial to ensure the health and safety of all in the area.
