Pattan, 07 April – A protest took place at Pattan Hospital as patients expressed their anger about the shortage of medical staff in the Outpatient Department (OPD). On a day when around 1,500 patients came to the OPD, only one doctor was available to help them, causing long waits and frustration.
The Block Medical Officer (BMO) of Pattan confirmed that another doctor had been assigned to the OPD to help with the situation. He explained that one doctor was absent and that an explanation for their absence was being sought. While he acknowledged that there is a shortage of doctors at the hospital, he assured the public that efforts are being made to manage the issue.
However, local residents were not satisfied with this explanation. They pointed out that the Pattan Trauma Hospital has 20 to 22 doctors on staff, so they questioned why only one doctor was present in the OPD on such a busy day. Many believe that poor management is causing patients to suffer.
The incident has led to widespread anger in the community, with many people calling for accountability and better healthcare services in the area. Patients and their families are demanding answers from the hospital administration about the staffing problems and the quality of care being provided.
As the protest continues, locals are urging authorities to take immediate action to ensure that enough medical staff is available to meet the needs of the community. This situation highlights the urgent need for better healthcare resources and management in Pattan, as residents want to make sure their health is a priority.
The public’s outcry shows a larger concern about access to healthcare in the region, and many hope that the administration will listen to their complaints and work towards a solution that benefits all patients. Further updates on the situation are expected as the community continues to fight for their right to proper medical care.
