Anantnag, January 28, 2025 — The Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag has set up a five-member team to investigate a recent outbreak of jaundice in Gotligund village, where 27 people, mostly children, have tested positive for the disease.
The team will look into how the outbreak started and what measures can be taken to prevent it from spreading further. They are required to visit the village and submit a plan of action to the principal of GMC Anantnag by the end of this month.
Dr. Mahbooba Rasool, an Associate Professor of Community Medicine at GMC Srinagar, will lead the team. Other members include Dr. Abiroo Jan, Dr. Irfan Gul, Dr. Asif Aziz, and Aijaz Ahmad, who will help provide necessary healthcare to those affected.
The team aims to ensure that the community receives the support it needs during this health issue, and local health officials are keeping a close watch on the situation.
