Srinagar, Nov. 2: According to officials, security forces on Saturday morning successfully killed an unidentified terrorist in the Khanyar neighborhood of Srinagar. Following intelligence reports regarding the existence of terrorists in the region, the operation got underway. In order to find and capture the suspects, police and security personnel moved quickly to establish a cordon and conduct a search in Khanyar, a neighborhood in Srinagar’s old city.
The terrorist was killed in a fierce gunfight that broke out during the operation. According to a senior official, the deceased person’s body was recovered from the scene along with a cache of weapons and ammunition, suggesting that there may be more terrorist activity in the area. To help identify the suspect’s origin and affiliations, forensic analysis will be performed on the recovered weapons.
“A cordon and search operation in the Khanyar area of Srinagar district has resulted in an exchange of fire,” the police had previously posted on X (formerly Twitter) to inform the public about the ongoing operation.
