SRINAGAR: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah held a high-level meeting at the Civil Secretariat in Srinagar to check how ready the state is for the harsh winter. He stressed the need for uninterrupted essential services and told all departments to focus on public welfare and be prepared for weather challenges.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to prioritize snow clearance, ensure continuous power and water supplies, and make sure essential items like fuel and food are available. He also emphasized keeping roads open, especially those leading to hospitals, power stations, and other important places.
The meeting discussed plans to have enough medical supplies, heating in healthcare centers, and transport for pregnant women in remote areas. They also talked about using helicopters for snow-covered regions and providing water tankers where needed.
Omar Abdullah called for teamwork, 24/7 district control rooms, and proactive measures to reduce inconvenience for the public during winter. He assured residents that the government is committed to their safety and well-being.
