Srinagar, 8 April: The Jammu and Kashmir government has announced that there is no plan to waive Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans of up to Rs 3 lakh for farmers. This statement comes after concerns were raised about the financial struggles many farmers are facing.
The Minister Incharge made this clear during a recent assembly meeting when MLA Hilal Akbar Lone asked if the government would help farmers who are having trouble paying back their KCC loans. The Minister replied, “There is no proposal in the government to waive off Kisan Credit Card (KCC) loans.”
The Kisan Credit Card scheme was started by the Government of India to help farmers get loans easily for their farming needs. While many farmers in Jammu and Kashmir have used this scheme, a lot of them are finding it hard to repay their loans. This has led to calls from farmers and community leaders for a one-time loan waiver to help ease their financial burden.
Farmers’ groups and experts are urging the government to consider this loan waiver as a way to support those in need. Many farmers are struggling due to various economic challenges, making it difficult for them to keep up with their loan payments.
Even though the government has said there are no plans for a loan waiver right now, the discussion about helping farmers continues. The agricultural sector is very important for the economy of Jammu and Kashmir, and finding ways to support farmers is essential for their future.
As the situation develops, farmers and community members will be watching closely for any news about possible financial help or changes in government policy that could affect their lives. The government’s support for farmers will be crucial in addressing the challenges they face.
