Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport received a bomb threat on Wednesday afternoon when a person called and conveyed that there was a plan to blow up plane which was bound to Azerbaijan.
The call was made to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) control room, with a caller which was very specifically called out the name Mohammad who was said to be carrying explosives on a flight from Mumbai to Azerbaijan.
Upon receiving the threat, the CISF immediately alerted the Sahar Police, resulting in a immediate protocol which doing a complete shut down of the airport. Authorities strictly surveyed and conducted thorough checks to confirm the safety of all the passengers.

These threat calls have been rising lately to ensure complete safety the NIA has set up special offices to ensure safety.

Taking a strong view of the hoax threat calls, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) issued an advisory to all social media platforms in October, asking them to follow the provisions of the Information Technology (IT) Rules and Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and make “reasonable efforts” to ‘promptly’ take down bomb threat posts or else “be held liable”
