Kishtwar, 11 April: A militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district, Jammu and Kashmir, on Friday. An Army official said that the operation started on April 9 after receiving specific information about militant activity in the Chatroo forest.
The official explained that a joint search operation was launched by the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police. They made contact with the militants late in the evening on the same day, which led to a firefight. So far, one militant has been neutralized, and the operation is still ongoing to secure the area.
