Udhampur, Jan 7: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha attended the graduation ceremony for 61 new Deputy Superintendents of Police (DySPs) at the Police Academy in Udhampur. He congratulated the officers and encouraged them to work with honesty and dedication.
The Lieutenant Governor highlighted their role in keeping the community safe and fighting terrorism. He honored the bravery of J&K Police and other security forces who have given their lives for the country.
He talked about the importance of teamwork between police and security agencies to eliminate terrorist threats and emphasized using modern technology like Artificial Intelligence to tackle new challenges like cyber threats and misinformation.
Sinha urged the officers to be proactive in policing and to focus on issues like drug trafficking and social media misuse. He also stressed the need for thorough investigations and successful prosecutions in crime cases.
Garib Dass, Director of the Police Academy, shared details about the training program. The event included a parade inspection and awards for top recruits.
The ceremony was attended by senior police officials, government leaders, and families of the new officers, along with local community members.
