In a continued effort to fight drug-related activities, the Kulgam police have successfully arrested a drug peddler and seized a significant amount of contraband. The arrest took place during a routine patrol by the Police Post Mirbazar team in the Furrah area.
The suspect, identified as Shahid Mushtaq Bhat, son of Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat and a resident of Furrah, was found in possession of 1.30 kg of a cannabis-like substance. The contraband was discovered concealed in a bag during the search.
Following the arrest, an FIR No. 05/2025 has been filed at Police Station Qazigund under the relevant legal sections, and an investigation is currently underway.
The police have urged the public to cooperate in their mission to eradicate the drug menace from society, emphasizing the importance of community involvement in these efforts.
