Kuch kuch film jaisi a Bengali Hindi web series written, and directed by Anindgita Dasgupta – a renowned filmmaker from the city of Mumbai who also lives in Tokyo. It is produced by M/s Aam Public Entertainment.
Today, Anindgita comes forward to share her experiences as the Director of this coveted web series. She claims both a profound spiritual transformation for herself and being a target of a series of malicious personalized cyber-attacks, sabotage, and conspiracy aimed at damaging her success and damaging her professional career.
During the production of the web series “Kuch Kuch Film Jaisi,” the filmmaker states she experienced a significant spiritual awakening that is too profound to be simply put into words. “It is a life-transforming experience, and I started to believe in God completely when I saw some miracles happen in my life that I could have not imagined being possible.” Anindgita emphasizes that the project was not just a film, but a “life-changing project for me .”
The film has garnered significant acclaim, receiving 143 awards, nominations, and official selections at various film festivals in Hollywood, Germany, America, Africa, Canada, Italy, India, etc. However, the filmmaker alleges that this success has been met with jealousy and disrespectful behavior from certain individuals for reasons or logic unknown to her to date.
“After getting 143 awards, nominations, and official selection, instead of celebrating as the filmmaker, I have faced a lot of jealousy and disrespectful behavior from some people,” she said.
Anindgita adds that these people are the embodiment of deceit and cowardice to the extent that they do not even dare to come forward and play games behind her back.
Anindgita laments at the fact that these individuals could have enjoyed the success of their own too, instead, they chose unethical means and engaged in heinous activities that only unabashedly exposed their true character,” she stated. Anindgita adds claims these individuals have engaged in a campaign of cyber harassment, including spreading false rumors about her, deleting award news from Google search results, reporting her news on the internet, attacking her Wikipedia page and altering her SEO, creating false links to pornographic websites and pasting her press releases into them, to damage her reputation.
“This type of activity is very harmful to the film industry and disrespectful to filmmakers, and women, one can choose to be motivated by another’s success but to ruin another person’s efforts, a success story is a deplorable act of a coward and should not be the pathway to become successful,” Anindgita said. By her experience Anindgita feels that the behaviour of one such individual appears to be like that of cyber criminals -such people unfortunately are never ready to come to terms with reality.” Dasgupta adds that “Deleting data from the internet does not change my fate or my project’s fate, but it changes their lives, tags them, cybercriminals, forever—this is the bitter truth, they never digest this,” she said. “Kuch Kuch Film Jaisi has already been made and released in various film festivals and received 143 awards, nominations, official selection—nobody can change it.”
Anindgita wants to inspire people to be more inclusive, and celebrate success rather than attempt to undermine it. “Rather than mocking others’ success, they should learn how to clap for others’ success so that their success story manifests soon,” she said.
She thanks God for being allowed to make this project. After making this project Anindgita says that she understands that some people consider her as the epitome of success and that’s why they try to destroy her image to prove that they are better. This revelation would not have been possible without making this project. It is not a project; it is a lifesaving vaccine that has saved me and my family from danger. It exposes some truth which ultimately saves our lives in the long run I am grateful to God Almighty for his protection.”
