Bengaluru: The Karnataka Police Department has announced its intention to appeal to the Supreme Court against the bail granted to Kannada actor Darshan in the fan murder case.
During a press conference in Bengaluru on Tuesday, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B. Dayanand mentioned, “The police department is getting ready to challenge the bail granted to the accused by the High Court in the Renukaswamy murder case.”
He further stated, “We are preparing a proposal for the government regarding this and are in the process of filing an appeal.” Sources indicate that following directives from the Home Ministry, the police have translated the charge sheet against Darshan into English, and it is ready for submission to the Supreme Court.
Last Friday, the Karnataka High Court granted bail to Kannada superstar Darshan and his partner Pavithra Gowda in relation to the Renukaswamy murder case. Darshan was released on interim bail on October 30 after spending 131 days in custody due to severe back pain, and he is currently receiving treatment at BGS Apollo Hospital in Bengaluru.
Pavithra Gowda, aged 33, was released on bail from Parappana Agrahara Central Prison on Tuesday. On June 11, Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and 15 others were arrested for allegedly kidnapping and brutally murdering Renukaswamy, a fan from Chitradurga, after he reportedly sent offensive messages to Pavithra, who was in a relationship with Darshan, despite his marriage. n response to the bail granted to Darshan and the other accused in this high-profile fan murder case, Renukaswamy’s father, Kashinathaiah Shivanagoudar, expressed his confidence that the bail will be contested in the Supreme Court. Speaking to the media in Chitradurga, he stated, “I have complete faith in the judiciary.
I learned about the bail granted to Darshan, Pavithra Gowda, and the others. I believe that once the court trial concludes, justice will be served.” He added, “The accused may have received temporary bail, but I trust that the judicial system will ensure they face the appropriate consequences.”
