In preparation for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sonamarg on January 13, the Jammu and Kashmir Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) has organized a fleet of 250 buses to transport political workers and government employees to the event. Attendees will include political leaders, government officials, and members of local governance bodies such as Panchs, Sarpanchs, DDCs, and BDCs.
The RTC buses will pick up participants from designated assembly points early in the morning, ensuring their timely arrival at the venue. JKRTC officials have meticulously planned the logistics to manage operations smoothly despite the cold winter weather. Around 200 buses will operate from Ganderbal, with the remaining fleet serving attendees from other parts of the region. Approximately 12,000 people are expected to use the RTC services to reach the event.
Showkat Ahmad Ahangar, General Manager of Operations Kashmir, stated that a control room has been set up at the JKRTC Srinagar Headquarters to oversee real-time coordination, ensuring the seamless execution of this large-scale operation. “Drivers and support staff are ready to take the people to the venue,” he said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Z-Morh tunnel at Gagangeer Sonamarg during his visit.
