Srinagar: The Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, has announced that the government is working hard to improve healthcare services across Jammu and Kashmir. She shared this information during a recent meeting in the House while answering a question from Mir Mohammad Fayaz.
Minister Itoo stated that 365 new medical officers have been hired and sent to remote and underserved areas where there are not enough doctors. This move aims to ensure that people in these areas can access the medical care they need.
The Minister also explained that the Health and Medical Education Department does not support the practice of “doctor attachments,” which can lead to a shortage of doctors in important areas. Instead, the department is focused on providing reliable healthcare services throughout Jammu and Kashmir, including in hard-to-reach places.
Itoo mentioned that while the department usually avoids doctor attachments, there are some special cases where adjustments are made due to personal reasons, mainly health issues. She assured everyone that these changes are made carefully to keep the healthcare system running smoothly.
This effort is part of the government’s plan to strengthen healthcare services and make sure that all residents of Jammu and Kashmir have access to quality medical care. The recent hiring of medical officers is expected to greatly improve healthcare in the region.
