JAMMU: As part of their ongoing fight against drug peddling under Operation Sanjeevani, Jammu Police scored a major success on December 24, 2024. A police team from Police Post Sidhra was conducting routine checks at Sidhra Bridge when they stopped a tanker (Registration No. JK02AN/7702) traveling from Nagrota to Narwal.
The driver tried to avoid the checkpoint but was caught by the police. He has been identified as Kamaljeet Singh, son of Surjeet Singh, from Gole Gujral Ranjitpura, Jammu. When the police searched the tanker, they found 10 kilograms of poppy straw (bhukki).
An FIR (No. 332/2024) has been filed at Police Station Nagrota under Sections 8/15/25 of the NDPS Act in connection with this case. The tanker has also been seized for further investigation.
