The General Administration Department referred 75 positions to JKPSC for recruitment in April 2023, marking the start of the CCE-2023 selection process. Out of the 30,756 applications that the Commission received,
18,882 took the preliminary exam on October 15, 2023. Of these, 2,144 applicants advanced to the Mains Examination, which was held in Jammu and Srinagar from March 26
to April 3, 2024, including 77 who were granted interim permission by the Central Administrative Tribunal.274 applicants advanced to the interview stage after the Mains, and 11 more were added in accordance with court rulings. The JKPSC Srinagar office conducted interviews from October 21 to October 29, 2024. Following the absence of eight candidates, the final results for 266 candidates were made public.
Following a tough recruitment process to fill competitive administrative posts in the region, the JKPSC has recommended 71 individuals for medical examination in accordance with SRO-103 of 2018 rules and the JKPSC Examination Rules 2022.
Tailor’s Daughter Tops In Valley
The second-place finisher of the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) 2023, Iqra Farooq, was unfazed by the financial difficulties and was committed to achieving a career where she could help others. Iqra, a tailor’s daughter, stated in an interview that despite coming from a middle-class family, her parents encouraged her to pursue her education.
In 2021, Iqra finished her post-graduation studies, putting in five to six hours a day. “I had to change careers and start over. Despite many financial difficulties, my parents never gave up on my education,” she remarked.
Iqra Farooq, the Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) 2023 second- place medalist, was unaffected by the financial challenges and dedicated to pursuing a job where she could assist others. In an interview, Iqra, the daughter of a tailor, said that although she came from a middle-class household, her parents supported her in her academic endeavors. Iqra put in five to six hours a day to complete her post-graduation courses in 2021. “I had to start again and change occupations. “My parents never gave up on my schooling despite a lot of financial challenges,” she said.
