Srinagar, January 27, 2025 – The Jammu and Kashmir Government has announced an increase in the Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees and pensioners to 53 percent, starting from July 1, 2024. This change was confirmed in two official orders from the Finance Department.
Now, government employees who follow the 7th Pay Commission will receive a DA of 53 percent based on their Basic Pay, which is an increase from the previous 50 percent. “Basic Pay” means the salary they earn at their level in the Pay Matrix, not including special pay or other allowances.
Employees will receive the extra DA for the period from July 2024 to December 2024 in February 2025. The new DA rates will be included in their monthly salaries starting in January 2025.
Similarly, the DA for pensioners and family pensioners has also been raised to 53 percent of their Basic Pension or Basic Family Pension, up from 50 percent.
Pensioners will also get their arrears for the same period in February 2025, and the new rates will be reflected in their pensions starting in January 2025.
