The Indian Army has returned a man from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) who accidentally crossed into India. The man, 32-year-old Mohammad Yasir Faiz, is from Tetrinote village in PoK and was taken into custody on January 25 in the Salotri border village of Poonch.
Officials said that Faiz seemed to be mentally unstable when he was found. After his arrest, the Indian Army contacted the Pakistani military to arrange for his return.
On Friday, after completing all the necessary steps, Faiz was handed over to the Pakistan Army at the Chakan Da Bagh border crossing. This incident shows how the Indian and Pakistani armies can work together to handle situations involving people who accidentally cross the border.
