In an Instagram video shared on Friday, Berry revealed her commitment to the cause by announcing that she was donating her entire closet. “I’m packing up my entire closet and heading over to the COOP! If you live in the Southern California area, I urge you to do the same. This is something we can do right now today to help all of the displaced families that are in need of the basics today! Thank you @sharonstone for your leadership. Love you Lady ❤️,” she wrote, expressing her gratitude for Stone’s initiative.
Berry, who hails from Meadville, Pennsylvania, quoted anthropologist Margaret Mead, emphasizing the power of collective action: “Never forget that a group of thoughtful committed citizens can make a difference.” As she filmed her donation preparations, her room was filled with items ready to be shared with those in need.
The wildfires have wreaked havoc across Southern California, claiming the lives of at least 11 individuals and destroying approximately 10,000 structures, according to Los Angeles County Fire Chief Anthony Marrone.
