Former IPS officer Acharya Kishore Kunal passed away from a heart attack on Sunday morning. He was the founder and head of the Mahavir Mandir Management. After the heart attack, he was taken to Mahavir Vatsalya Hospital, but unfortunately, he could not be saved.
Kishore Kunal was born on August 10, 1950. He joined the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 1972 as part of the Gujarat cadre. In 1983, he became the Superintendent of Police in Patna. During his career, he was appointed by Prime Minister VP Singh as Officer on Special Duty for the Ayodhya dispute, where he worked to mediate between the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Babri Masjid Action Committee.
Later, Kishore Kunal left his police job because of his deep faith in Lord Mahavir and joined the Patna Mahavir Mandir. He played a big role in developing the temple and was also the chairman of the Bihar Religious Trust Board. As the secretary of Mahavir Mandir, he started renovation work on October 30, 1983. Under his leadership, the Mahavir Trust established the Mahavir Cancer Institute and carried out many social activities through the temple.
