On Tuesday, a tragic accident occurred in the Balnoi area of Poonch district, where an Army vehicle fell into a 150-foot-deep gorge. At least five soldiers lost their lives, and 13 others injured.
The Army vehicle was traveling from Nilam Headquarters to Balnoi Ghora Post when it met with the accident near Ghora Post. After the vehicle plunged into the gorge, a Quick Reaction Team quickly arrived at the scene to start a rescue operation.
Officials reported that ten soldiers were injured in total. Unfortunately, five of them had critical injuries and later passed away. There were 18 soldiers in the vehicle when the accident happened.
The injured soldiers have been taken to a hospital for treatment. Further details about the incident are still awaited.
