The Department of Social Welfare in Jammu and Kashmir has restarted the Elder Line helpline to support senior citizens. The helpline, which can be reached at 14567, began operating on Saturday and will be available every day from 8 am to 8 pm.
This helpline is designed to help elderly people by providing emotional support, legal advice, and information about welfare programs. A team of trained counselors will be ready to assist seniors with their needs.
Rupesh Kumar, the Director of the Social Welfare Department in Jammu, highlighted the importance of this service. He said, “Many elderly individuals feel lonely, face legal issues, and have trouble accessing welfare schemes. This helpline will be an important support system for them.”
The Elder Line helpline aims to address the challenges that senior citizens often face, ensuring they have a reliable source of help. With this service now available, elderly residents in Jammu and Kashmir can get the assistance they need, showing the community’s commitment to caring for its older members.
