The Doda Police have successfully arrested Liyakat Hussain, who had been on the run for over 14 years. He was caught in his hometown of Sumbli Darhal in Rajouri after a focused effort by the Bhaderwah Police.
SSP Doda, Sh. Sandeep Mehta, announced the arrest, explaining that Liyakat Hussain was wanted in a case from 2008 involving theft and cheating. After the investigation, a court case was filed, and he was declared an absconder. A warrant for his arrest was issued by the Bhaderwah court in 2011.
A special police team, led by Inspector Sandeep Parihar, was created to find and arrest Hussain. They used both human intelligence and technology to track him down successfully.
In another case, Mohd Sikander, who had been avoiding arrest since 2017, surrendered to the Additional Session Judge in Doda. He was under pressure from the police and has been sent to District Jail Bhaderwah as ordered by the court.
The Doda Police have been actively working to catch absconders and criminals. In the last three months, they have arrested 12 absconders and brought them to court, showing their commitment to keeping the community safe.
