On Sunday, the Congress party announced a new “Yuva Udaan Yojana” scheme to support educated but unemployed people in Delhi. If they win the election, they promise to give ₹8,500 every month for one year to those who qualify.
Sachin Pilot, a Congress leader and former deputy chief minister of Rajasthan, shared the details. He made it clear that the money will not be given to people who are just sitting at home. Instead, young people will need to show their skills by working in a company, factory, or organization. The financial help will come through these workplaces, encouraging young people to be active in their jobs.
Pilot said, “We want to help people find jobs in areas where they have been trained, so they can improve their skills.”
This announcement is part of several plans the Congress party is presenting as they prepare for the upcoming Delhi assembly elections. On January 6, they introduced the “Pyari Didi Yojana,” which promises ₹2,500 per month to eligible individuals if they win. They also announced the “Jeevan Raksha Yojana” on January 8, which offers free health insurance of up to ₹25 lakh.
Voting for the 70-member Delhi assembly will take place on February 5, and the results will be counted on February 8. The Congress party has not been in power in Delhi since December 2013, when the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took over. In the last two elections, AAP won a large number of seats, while Congress did not win any.
As the elections get closer, the Congress party is trying to regain support in Delhi with these new plans aimed at helping young people and improving their job opportunities.
