Budgam, 23 January – The Budgam Police have taken a strong step to fight against drugs by destroying a large amount of narcotic substances. This action was ordered by the Hon’ble Court of District and Sessions Judge Budgam and was led by Shri Nikhil Borker-IPS, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Budgam.
The drugs were destroyed at the Kashmir Healthcare System Bio-Medical Waste Unit in ICG Lasipora, Pulwama. The police made sure to follow all legal rules and environmental safety standards during the process. The drugs that were destroyed were taken from 23 different criminal cases and included 120 kilograms of Poppy Straw, 27 kilograms of Charas, 2 kilograms of caffeine, and 64 tablets of Spasmoproxyvon. The total value of the drugs destroyed is around ₹60 lakhs.
This action shows the Budgam Police’s strong commitment to eliminating drug problems and promoting a drug-free community. They are also asking local residents to help by reporting any suspicious drug activities to the nearest police station.
By destroying these drugs, the police hope to discourage drug trafficking and protect the community from the dangers of drug abuse. The Budgam Police are dedicated to this fight and believe that community support is essential for creating a safer environment for everyone.
