NEW DELHI, Dec 14: Although we were unable to form the government in Jammu & Kashmir, the BJP’s vote share in the Legislative Assembly elections surpassed that of the National Conference, the ruling party.
We received a greater number of votes but narrowly lost some seats. Notably, our vote share increased significantly in the Muslim-majority Kashmir Valley as well.
This was mentioned by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh at the “India Economic Conclave” hosted by “Times Now” at Bharat Mandapam.
In response to a question, Dr. Singh criticized the Congress party for perpetuating misconceptions and falsehoods about the BJP among the people of the Kashmir Valley, similar to its tactics in the Northeast.
However, like those in the Northeast, the people of Jammu & Kashmir are beginning to recognize that the BJP is the only party capable of providing impartial justice to all. Dr. Singh recalled a time when mentioning the BJP in Kashmir was taboo, and carrying its flag was unthinkable.
Today, however, he noted that the BJP’s election campaign in Kashmir mirrors that of any other region in the country. Addressing the main theme of the Conclave on the “Indian Economy,” Dr. Jitendra Singh emphasized that to realize the vision for 2047 and position India as a global force, we must adopt international strategies and standards.
He highlighted that India’s previously underexplored Space, Marine, and Himalayan resources will significantly contribute to the country’s future economic advancement. When discussing how India can leverage its natural resources for creative growth, he pointed out that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has opened the Space sector to private players, presenting ample opportunities for benefits.
Dr. Singh stated that India’s space sector is on track to meet global standards, having made substantial progress since 2014. Currently, India accounts for about eight to nine percent of the world’s space economy, and he projected that the Indian economy will triple in the next decade, a feat attributed to Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
The Minister noted that while ISRO was established later than NASA, it is now on par with global organizations and its capacity continues to grow. So far, over 432 satellites have been launched, with 397 of those since Prime Minister Modi assumed office in 2014. Dr. Jitendra Singh announced that India will establish its own space station by 2035.
He expressed the need to explore untapped areas, stating that there is no shortage of resources, potential, commitment, or passion. Regarding Jammu & Kashmir, he mentioned that the BJP’s performance in the recent Assembly elections has been the best to date, with our vote share not only increasing but also being greater than that of the ruling party. He added that the arrival of over two crore tourists in the Kashmir Valley is a clear indicator of returning normalcy.
