Budhal, Rajouri District – A 60-year-old woman has died from a mysterious illness in Budhal village, making the total number of deaths 16, including 12 children, in the last 45 days. The woman, named Jatti Begum, was taken to Government Medical College (GMC) Rajouri on Thursday and passed away during treatment on Friday morning.
Jatti Begum’s husband, Mohammad Yousuf, also died from the same illness just a few days ago on Monday. They are related to Mohammad Aslam, who has lost five children to this unknown sickness.
Jammu and Kashmir’s Health Minister, Sakina Itoo, has said that these deaths are not caused by any known virus or infection. This statement has left many people in the community worried and looking for answers about what is happening.
To investigate the situation, local authorities have set up an 11-member Special Investigation Team (SIT). This team will look into the cause of the illness and try to find out more information.
