On Thursday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) revealed its initial list of 11 candidates for the forthcoming Delhi Assembly elections, which are anticipated to take place early next year. This list prominently includes six individuals who have recently transitioned to AAP from the BJP and Congress.
The candidates joining from the BJP are former leaders Brahm Singh Tanwar, Anil Jha, and BB Tyagi, while ex-Congress members include Chaudhry Zubair Ahmad, Veer Dhingan, and Sumesh Shokeen. Along with these newcomers, AAP has retained three of its loyalists, although three sitting MLAs have not been given tickets for this election.
The loyalists who continue with the party are Sarita Singh, a former MLA for Rohtas Nagar; Ram Singh Netaji, previously the MLA from Badarpur; and Deepak Singhla, who stood as a candidate for Vishwas Nagar in 2020 and currently oversees AAP operations in Maharashtra and Goa.
