A big fire broke out in the Chamalwas area of Banihal, burning down seven houses and causing a lot of damage. The fire started around midnight in the Sayed Pora hamlet and spread quickly.
When people heard about the fire, the Banihal Police, fire services, and volunteers from the NGO Banihal Volunteers rushed to help. With the help of local residents, they worked hard to put out the fire and stopped it from spreading to more homes.
The families who lost their homes are Mohammad Yousaf Shah, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Gulzar Ahmed Shah, Mushtaq Ahmed Shah, Shabir Ahmed Shah, Jamat Ali Shah, and Ghulam Nabi Shah. All of these families are from the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category, which makes their loss even harder.
Local officials are trying to find ways to help the families affected by the fire. The community is coming together to support those in need during this difficult time.
As the investigation into what caused the fire continues, this event reminds everyone how important it is to be safe and prepared to prevent fires in the future.
