The sixth and last child of Mohammad Aslam from Budhal village in Rajouri, Jammu, has passed away at GMC Jammu, raising the death toll linked to a mysterious illness to 17.
Yasmeena Jan, the daughter of Mohammad Aslam, was initially taken to GMC Rajouri last Sunday. Due to her deteriorating condition, she was referred to GMC Jammu for advanced treatment on Monday. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her illness during treatment on Sunday evening. Dr. Ashutosh Gupta, Principal of GMC Jammu, confirmed her death, stating that her condition had been critical since her admission.
Yasmeena was the last surviving child of Mohammad Aslam, who has now tragically lost all six of his children to this unexplained illness. In just one week, Aslam has also lost his maternal uncle and aunt, adding to the family’s grief.
In response to the alarming situation, the Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakina Itoo, has ruled out the possibility of a virus or infection after conducting tests at various medical institutes across India.
To investigate the cause of these mysterious deaths, a high-level team from the Union Government arrived in Budhal village on Sunday. The team aims to gather information and determine the underlying factors contributing to this tragic outbreak.
As the community mourns the loss of these young lives, health officials continue to work diligently to uncover the cause of this illness and prevent further tragedies.
