Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo held a meeting today to discuss the recent mysterious deaths in Badhal village, located in District Rajouri. The meeting included officials from the local administration and health experts from various national health organizations.
Since December 7, 2024, there have been 12 deaths among 38 people affected in the village, and the causes remain unknown. To address this issue, the Chief Secretary urged the Health and Police Departments to work together closely to investigate the situation thoroughly.
Dulloo emphasized the need to analyze reports from different health institutions to find out what is causing these deaths. He also asked the police to use their resources and scientific methods to help with the investigation.
Experts from institutions like PGIMER, CSIR, and the National Institute of Virology shared their findings during the meeting. They reported that tests did not show any viral, bacterial, or microbial infections as the cause of the deaths. However, they did find certain neurotoxins in samples from the deceased, which are still being investigated.
The government has taken several steps to understand the situation better, including sending Rapid Response Teams to the area, testing water sources, and examining samples from both humans and animals. They are working with top health institutions to uncover the real causes behind these tragic events.
As the investigation continues, the community hopes for answers and effective measures to prevent further incidents.
